My cousins and my friends are a great support system. This adventure would not be possible without them. My goodness! A month with one and almost three weeks with the other. Friends new and old who have also provided free rent this summer are much appreciated. But not only do I appreciate the lodging, but they have also provided support through the less pleasant adventures. I need the shoulders to lean on.
Yesterday, my friend Betsy, who I met the summer of 9th grade, drove over two hours to meet me in a small town in West Virginia to check on a family situation. I don’t have a resolution yet due to the holiday weekend, but hope to have one tomorrow afternoon. But just having the moral support when I needed it, is priceless. And thanks Patti for the advice on bear spray vs. pepper spray.
I wrapped up my stay in Eugene and flew back to Pittsburgh the other day. I’ll be here until I leave for NY and then to England in less than 2 weeks! Today I received approval for the import duty tax on my belongings to be waived. Yay!
But in between Eugene and Pittsburgh was the trip to the coast for the wedding of those beautiful people, Benny and Monika. Sideways rain up until about 30 minutes prior to the ceremony had everyone slightly concerned. We prevailed and the weather cooperated enough (still quite windy) and the wedding was beautiful on the beach.

The reception was nicely done and Monika’s family are all wonderful. I see the love and support these two provide each other and feel they are a good match. And afterwards, sunset on the beach in between the cloud cover.
