Stock photo, JFK is a smidge bigger than the airport pictured. Current status at the gate 4 hours early. I have reading and writing and walking to do, no worries.
Thank you to my cousins Mike and Barbara for hosting me in NY for the last couple of days. We spent some quality time and took a nice drive to the north shore of Long Island. We had fabulous bagels with white fish salad and real NY pizza by the slice. Mmmmm. Also watched the geese land nearby while we were in Sayville. I got a souvenir by sitting on a fish hook left on a bench. I’m fine and even my pants are fine.
I also enjoyed dinner with them and cousin Audrey. And I made a new friend, Sandy, pictured below the geese. She’s such a lady.

Today is the 6th anniversary of my Mom’s death. I wonder what she’d have to say about my leaving the U.S. and moving to where her mother was born. I’m also leaving behind my daughter who I don’t have any communication with…her preference. I told her via email about my move and she knew when I was visiting my cousin in Oregon, but didn’t ask to see me. It makes me sad and confused and angry. I’ve learned how to deal with these emotions due to some hard work with my fantastic therapist. But, I don’t like it. I’m moving on, literally and figuratively. Fortunately I have a great relationship with my son and his wife.
My sister lives in WV in a small town of less than 500 in a small county of less than 20,000 people. Last year she declined a visit even though I drove by her exit between western PA and D.C. The same this year. I was very concerned for her, but a welfare check by a sheriff’s deputy assured me she is fine; just prefers communicating via email – no in-person or phone/text/video.
Why are people acting weird??? And why is it my daughter and sister acting weird?
