A home of my own

Have you ever wondered what it is like to be homeless? Or a wanderer? I’ve been thinking about this for awhile now. Oh, ever since I moved out of my apartment at the end of May. For 4 1/2 months I have lived with two cousins, one best friend, several Airbnb stays, a couple of nights with more friends, and motels. I am NOT comparing my experiences with homelessness. I’ve generally enjoyed my adventures, it has been by choice, and I have money. What has been wearing on me is living out of suitcases, not having my full wardrobe, doing laundry “on the run”, and not really cooking. It has given me a little bit of insight.

Anyway, tomorrow I move into my new home. I’m very excited. The past few days I’ve been shopping for all the stuff I didn’t take with me. I bought a sofa, sofa bed, wardrobe, dresser, and night stands from a charity thrift store. Linens and most of the kitchen items are new because I couldn’t seem to find four matching place settings. It was either 3 or service for 12. I did find a store that is a mish-mash of KMart + liquor + grocery + garden center + toys + Halloween costumes + Christmas decor. Weird, they did have cutlery and cleaning supplies, yet no garbage bags. 🤷‍♀️

Enjoy the pics from my “day off” on Sunday when I took a long walk. Not writing again until I get more settled.

Thats 3 smokestacks leftover from old textile factories.
