That was August of 2025. I participated in No Kings protests every time except yesterday. I gave my t-shirt and banner to a friend when I left the U.S. and all of my signs to Indivisible of Forest Grove. But that does not mean I was not participating yesterday. I did, in spirit, if not in person.

My ballot for the midterms has arrived and I’ll be voting from overseas for the first time. As a dual citizen, I am eligible to vote in elections for each country. For U.S. elections, I provided my new address to Oregon (where I was last registered) and they mailed my booklet. I don’t know if I’m eligible to continue voting on local races/issues, or even state ones. I will find out soon enough. Then I have to register (?) for the UK and definitely begin studying the parties and issues here.
